How'd you do?

**While there was only one commenter for the test...I know that there are a few of you out there who choose not to comment for some reason. Sorry you missed out on the super cool "prize"**

And the super cool "prize" goes too....(drum roll please...)

Marissa who is way smarter than me...she correctly answered 3 out of the 5 questions.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

#1. You are participating in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in?
ANSWER: You are in second place.

#2. If you overtake the last person, than you are?
ANSWER: You can't overtake the last person...the last person is the LAST person there is!

**The third question must be done in your head...no paper or calculator!**

#3. Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000. Now add 30. Add another 1000. Now add 20. Add another 1000. Now add 10. What is the total?
ANSWER: 4100 (really...check it with a calculator)

#4. Mary's father has five daughters: Nana, Nene, Nini, Nono. What is the name of the fifth daughter?
ANSWER: Mary (but...Nunu is a really great answer too.)

Bonus Round:A mute person goes into a shop and wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of brushing his teeth he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done. Next, a blind man comes into the shop who wants to buy a pair of sunglasses; how does he indicate what he wants?
ANSWER: He just opens his mouth and asks for them...it's that simple!

How long has it been...**EDITED**

since you've taken a test?

For me it was just last week...but I'm sure it's been longer for some...so here is a fun test for you.

I will post the answers on Thursday. Good luck!

**If you want to, place your answers in the comment section, it can be somewhat of a contest, and the first with the correct answers will win a "prize" (the prize being recognition as the winner in a post on this blog:) I would just love to see the answers you all come up with...I will admit I did not do very well at all!**

Did you see the Lunar Eclipse...

I was excited when, on my way home from school tonight, I noticed the moon.

I had heard that there was going to be an eclipse this evening...but I would have totally forgotten about it if it weren't for my chance glance into the sky.

Anywho...it is pretty neat, I hope you all have/had the opportunity to check it out.

I was just excited that it wasn't one of those astronomical events that occur at some gastly hour in the middle of the night and even though you would love to witness it there is no way your thirty-something year old body can stay up that late, and forget setting the alarm to get up because once the thirty-something year old body is sleeping it really likes to stay that way for as long as possible.

I had a brilliant (read psychotic) idea when I arrived home. I grabbed the camara and attempted to take a photo of the partially eclipsed moon. But...alas I achived no success. It is currently colder that the Antarctic outside and I couldn't stop shaking enough to keep the moon in the view finder...let alone push the dumb button while keeping the camara still. I have resorted to just watching the "action" out the front window from the comfort of my nice toasty house.

While the lunar eclipse is not rare...it is still pretty interesting.

almost time to get dirty...

I was sharing my excitment about the upcoming greenhouse season with my family the other night (I truely do love it...it makes the Michigan winter a little more bearable!!)...and Haidyn asked me why they call it a greenhouse...when it is white? Shouldn't it be called a white house???

She then looked very puzzled...and realized that the president doesn't live in grandpas backyard...and realized the confussion that would cause...and decided that greenhouse was OK after all.

T minus 6 days and counting!!!

(If I could, I would add a scratch-and-sniff of the "earthy" greenhouse smell for a certain someone who I know enjoys it!)

It is the thought that counts!!

birthday girl - snow day - back to work...OH MY!!

I meant to post a wonderful birthday post for Quinnie yesterday...but we had so much fun with birthday gatherings, and preparing for them that...it didn't happen.

Sooooo...

It was a beautiful unseasonably warm day 10 years (and one day) ago, when cute little, 7lb. 7oz. Quincey Hope came into this world...and our world hasn't been the same since. She has become quite the girl...she can love you like crazy...or not love you just as much...and honestly all in the space of a minute. She is helpful and caring, she love to read and write...and she keeps life interesting thats for sure.

Below is a self portrait of Quinn...she took it herself with her new camara...I think we may need to add photographer to her "resume"??

WE LOVE YOU QUINNER!!

We spent another day cooped up in the house...I have already voiced my opinion on snow days...enough already with the snow machine mother nature.

And...Cam headed back to work today after his 2 week lay off. HORAY!!! (yet another reason for the snow machine to be switched off). Of course the return to work came with a price, I am a single mom for the week. But...we are praising the Lord, work is work, and we will take it...no matter where it may bring us. If you could pray for safty and sanity for Cam and I this week that would be wonderful.

Maybe it's the weather???

Have you ever encountered a customer service person (i.e. secretary) that just didn't really get how to do her/his job? I mean a smile would be nice...and not displaying visible disgust with the customer you are dealing with...I don't know...but I've been taught that when working with the public you should go so far as to smile while on the phone because you just sound happier with a smile on your face...Well...Ol' grump @$$ certainly didn't get that memo...and I was handed a large helping of "who the heck are you and why are you bothering me with this..." I mean it would be a shame to actually have to...say...work!!! So join me in saying a little prayer for the next unsuppecting victim who walks through the door. YIKES!!!
